- The incumbent should have completed the Paramedic Training Programme (include as a minimum Didactic phase of 540 hours, Clinical phase of 4 weeks', Field internship phase of 12 weeks) with 3-5 years' experience in active ambulance care in an emergency or trauma unit, or medical emergency room
- The ability to speak and write the English language well is essential
- Able to deliver Triage, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
- Airway and breathing – including but not limited to perform:
- endotracheal intubation,
- percutaneous cricothyrotomy,
- decompression of the pleural space,
- gastric decompression
- Pharmacological Interventions – including but not limited to:
- establish and maintain peripheral intravenous access insert an intraosseous cannula,
- enteral and parenteral administration of approved prescription medications, Administer medications by IV infusion
- access indwelling catheters and implanted central IV ports for fluid and medication administration
- Maintain an infusion of blood or blood products 1 Percutaneous means access via needle-puncture (or other approved puncture device)
- Perform cardioversion, manual defibrillation, and transcutaneous pacing
- Trauma Care, manual stabilization of suspected spinal injuries
- Certifications and CME Training Required and to maintain
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- Prehospital Trauma Life Support
- 48-hour Paramedic Refresher Course/2years, 24 hours CME additional training/2years
- Assist Nurse/Medic in Health Screening, Triage support at the site clinic
- Daily capturing of patient visits in the clinic register
- Managing the electronic patient filing system, support Health team document management
- Monthly submission of clinic statistics sheet and stock management
- Ambulance and Multipurpose Vehicle Fleet management, including maintenance and servicing
- Routine clinic and critical lifesaving equipment checks
- Provide medical emergency related training (e.g. first aider skills practise)
- Perform health related training for business stakeholders
- Support Trade testing
