- The incumbent must be a Nursing Graduate with a post-graduate Masters/Diploma qualification in Occupational Health and at least 3-5 years of working experience in an industrial environment, preferably Oil and Gas.
- The qualification in Occupational Health must be recognized by the Qatar Ministry of Public Health for registration and licensing as an Occupational Health Nurse.
- The ability to speak and write the English language well is essential.
- The person must be able to strategically plan activities, prioritize work and solve problems associated with technical issues related to clinic management, as well as manage inter-functional issues with medical team clients and business stakeholders.
- The incumbent must be professional, trustworthy and reliable, with a commitment to effectively deliver high quality work. They must be able to work under pressure and ensure timely delivery. They must also be able to, and enjoy, work in a team environment. The successful incumbent needs to demonstrate a high standard of HSE understanding.
- The incumbent must be able to supervise and manage a diverse medical team (Onshore Nurse Medics, Onshore Paramedics, Offshore Medics) and assure effective work delivery.
- Able to provide:
- Nurse level clinical and occupational health services
- Nurse level 'Fitness to Work' assessment (pre-employment/placement, job specific, periodic, with cause/return to work)
- Occupational injury/illness notification and classification
- Medical Surveillance (e.g. audiometry, cobalt, spirometry etc.)
- Perform field visits and provide incident investigation support
- Case Management, including hospital visits when needed, following injury/illness
- Assessing, recording and monitoring of Sickness Absenteeism
- Health & Hygiene inspection (e.g. kitchens and mess halls, workplace, etc.)
- Maintain the standard lists of medications and equipment by liaising with supplier
- Health statistics and reporting, including database quality assurance
- Implement and monitor workplace health promotion activities
- Manage occupational health awareness and education programs
- Manage computer ergonomics programme, including work station assessments
- Recording of medical data in Qatar Shell Health's 'oneHealth IT' portal and databases
- Perform health related training for business stakeholders
- Support the Qatar Shell Industrial Hygienist to perform Health Risk Assessment
- Perform health related measurements in the field (e.g. noise, heat index, etc.)
