Our Risk Management team provides a second line of defense support encompassing the technical support and processes which enable and support the delivery of service quality, contain the threat of litigation, limit damage to our reputation and achieve full fee recovery.The opportunityThe role is for an experienced Risk and Compliance Officer to assist the Risk and Compliance Lead in primarily supporting Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman (KQO) cluster. You will be responsible for ensuring that all regulatory areas within the cluster are met and conduct ongoing review and evaluation of the framework in respect to compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations in order to minimize exposure to risk.Your key responsibilities
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in AML, Risk and Compliance to support client-serving teams.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance for KQO and assisting other regions across MENA as and when required.
  • Assisting with the development, implementation and management of the firm's regulatory affairs strategy and compliance framework including compliance policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
  • Keeping abreast with key regulatory changes and ensuring prompt and proactive communication to business to ensure appropriate policy and framework changes.
  • Assisting with conducting regular compliance risk assessments, monitoring, and testing.
  • Assisting with the management of the firm's end-to-end AML/CFT function for KQO i.e., KYC, sanctions screening, suspicious transaction reporting, monitoring, training, risk assessments and reporting.
  • Assisting with Regulatory and Senior Executive Management Reporting.
  • Assisting with compliance audits, regulatory inspections and managing effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
  • Assisting with regular staff training.
  • Participating in other risk management and compliance projects as required; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Arabic Language (Business communication level proficiency)
  • 5+ years of Risk, Compliance and AML experience
  • Relevant qualifications in Business, Risk and Compliance
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Knowledge of Assurance or other regulated activities, and experience of working with regulators would be an asset.
  • A relevant AML/CFT qualification such as a CAMS qualification would be an added advantage.
