- To be an exemplary teacher, clearly demonstrating effective planning, teaching and organisation, and high standards of achievement and behaviour in Music lessons.
- To be responsible for the development and on-going review of the school's Music curriculum and related schemes of work.
- To follow the school's assessment, recording and reporting procedures.
- To follow the cultural expectations of Qatar and promote national identity.
- To be willing to share good practice within and beyond the Music department, particularly with regards to the Juilliard programme
- To promote cultural entitlement through the provision of a broad range of enrichment activities during and after the school day.
- To use the student tracking and monitoring processes to advance children's learning and enhance professional practice in line with the school's aspirations and priorities.
- To take personal responsibility for professional learning and development.
- To communicate effectively the school's narrative, being an ambassador for our school at all times.
Bachelor's Degree in Music or related subject OR Bachelor's Degree plus PGCE/QTS Essential
Further Degree (e.g. MA) Desirable
Teaching Qualifications Essential
Proven track record and two years teaching experience Essential
Knowledge of the relevant aspects of the UK National Curriculum Essential
Experience of the UK National Curriculum Desirable
Experience of teaching Music across the full 3-18 age range Desirable
Experience teaching within an International School Desirable
Excellent oral and written communication skills Essential
Ability to engage children and enable them to perform with increasing confidence Essential
Ability to integrate technology into the classroom experience to enhance and extend the learning of students Essential
