- Diagnose and treat diseases of the ear, nose, upper pharynx, larynx, oral cavity, and other head and neck structures.
- Examine the affected organs with the use of equipment such as x-ray machines, microscopes, nasoscopes, prisms, and audiometers.
- Find out the nature and severity of the disorder and prescribe treatment.
- Find out if the cause of the problem is due to allergies, cold or patient’s diet. Otolaryngologists may also recommend hearing aid for people with hearing problems and work with victims of accident suffering from head and neck injuries.
- Otolaryngologists may also perform tests to find out the severity of hearing or speech loss due to diseases or injuries.
- May need to work closely with other physicians of other medical specialties to solve time to time various medical issues.
- Deal with patients suffering from speech, hearing or any other problems or malfunctions caused by the nose, ear or throat.
- Preforming surgical procedure and post-surgical patient care.
- Consult with patients following operations and treatments and recommend postoperative care.
- Conduct surgical procedures and other treatments in accordance with accepted methods.
- Schedule time, space, and staff for surgery and other procedures.
- File and organize patient's confidential documents.
- Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews, and remaining available for emergency consultations.
- Maintains historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events and writing summaries.
- Refer patients to the other specialist as per patient requirement.
- Participate in event/corporate programming, social media marketing and other marketing activities.
