ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and will continually assess their readiness and performance
- Maintains daily awareness of fire inspections, fire services, inspection and testing of fire protection and alarm systems, firefighter training, and fire drills
- Completes the requirements in the PWS and IAW DoD regulations
- Submits all fire and rescue incident data using USG approved Incident Reporting System software
- Responsible for Fire Station daily operations to ensure personnel are well-trained and capable to perform their duties effectively and on short notice
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in related field (i.e. Fire Management, etc.). Must provide a copy of diploma or college transcripts.
- Minimum Certification Requirements: International Fire Service Accreditation Certifications Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter, Driver Operator - Pumper, and Ship Board firefighter (where applicable).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance
- A valid United States (US) driver's license and the ability to obtain both a State of Qatar ID (QID) and State of Qatar Driver License (QDL).
- Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Fire Chief or a Deputy Fire Chief.
- Experience with the Army Emergency Management Program. (DA PAM 525-27).
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program (DODI 6055.06-M) or industrial/municipal equivalent.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Fire Station daily operations to ensure personnel are well-trained and capable to perform their duties effectively and on short notice.
- Selects and guides firefighters to perform as expected when called upon and will continually assess their readiness and performance.
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
