Job SummaryThe Senior Quantity Surveyor prepares all costs aspects of civil and building works on projects, from the inception to final account. To ensure all expenditure is kept to a minimum and all revenue is maximized as early as possible all without compromising Employer/Subcontractor relationship.Job Responsibilities 1Obtain and expand knowledge base on all Civil and Building related matters as relate to specific projects.Administer subcontractors and use of Company procedures.Follow up with site construction team and technical team for collecting the progress details.Obtain and expand knowledge base on all QS related matters related to specific projects. Through theachievement of this all commercial and contractual matter.Ensure to manage Client Site Instructions and Variation Orders.Ensure that payment application is submitted to the Employer, no later than the due date.Ensure that Cash Flow and Budget Preparation including regular monitoring at least once per month.Job Responsibilities 2Ensure Contractual and Commercial Support and Correspondence “Letter Writing”.Ensure the preparation of backup documentation and justification required for Client Instructions and / orinterim Valuations.Ensure to complete and submit monthly cost value reconciliations, cost to complete reports and profitabilityprojections within 1 week of the Valuation submission.Ensure to place Subcontracts on Standard approved terms and Templates, and at a lesser amount as reflectedin the allowable.Ensure that all interim applications are received on time from the Subcontractors and included into KCTapplications and submitted on time to the Employer.Ensure that payment certificates for Subcontractors are valued no more than the value applied for “or” certifiedfrom the Client, and processed on time.Ensure that all Packages preparation and Tendering Procedures are conformed with, and correctly coordinated.Ensure all changes to the scope of the works are accompanied by signed off Variation Orders and payment /deduction is secured from the Client / Project Manager and Back to Back with the Main Contract.Additional Responsibilities 3Job Knowledge & SkillsExperience in the use of computer based quantification and knowledge in using systems such as CCS(Candy).Knowledge in using Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power point, outlook expressetc.).Experience in the optimal use of AutoCAD for Quantity Takeoff.Knowledge in preparation of Bill of Quantities with standard method of measurement.Knowledge in Principles of Measurement (International) 1979, NRM2 CESSMMIII, QSSM, QCS, FIDICKnowledge in using Microsoft office Applications i.e. Excel, PowerPoint etc.ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.Job ExperienceMinimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plusCompetenciesResilienceQualityLeadershipContract Administration L3Payments - Subcontracts and Main Contracts L3Subcontract Agreement L3Variations and claims L3AgilitySubcontracting L3EducationBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or EngineeringProfessional Qualification in Quantity Surveying or any related field
