- Supervise, coach, and mentor members of the workshop team.
- Assess and move team members as required to suit the needs of the business.
- Manage personnel rotations to ensure workshop activities remain uninterrupted.
- Manage the personal development of all workshop team members to promote growth.
- Responsible for the safe & efficient running of the mechanical workshop facilities.
- Ensure project requirements are met within time & cost budget constraints.
- Ensure constant improvement of safety, performance, and quality standards.
- Provide professional, operational, and safety supervision and leadership to the workshop team.
- Work as part of a team with other department supervisors to ensure effective workflow.
- Uphold the standards of the company and work in line with the company's objectives.
- Assist in the development of workshop processes to cope with the increasing variation of work scopes & equipment types.
- Oversee the daily operation of the workshop.
- Supervise the technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels for all B/L, including base assets and stocks & ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available for use.
- Maintain Asset Register.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that all repairs are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee the work instructions for repairs.
- Continually review and improve workshop processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure that all staff are trained and qualified to carry out their duties.
- Ensure that there is tracking of third-party activities that are utilized for both base & B/L.
- Provide feedback to staff who are not performing to the expected level and ensure human resources are informed of trends in performance.
- Maintain Inventory Tracker.
- Drive management and compliance with QHSE processes such as EWOK and ERSs
- Conducting weekly HSE meeting.
- Conduct Weekly / Monthly Safety Tours.
- Reading and interpreting the detailed technical drawing schematics of equipment, parts drawings, and computer-generated reports.
- Allocate resources, including materials, equipment, and workforce, to optimize workflow and productivity for equipment repairs.
- Managing troubleshooting, diagnosis, overhaul, installation, and repair of equipment.
- Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining ways to resolve recurring issues.
- Managing equipment functionality; completing partial or full dismantling of equipment to quickly repair or replace defective components and restore functionality.
- Managing maintenance functions; collaborating with the sanitation crews for shop floor upkeep and repairs.
- Establishing and monitoring maintenance protocols to deliver reliable service.
- Identify staff that require on-going training and implement training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved.
- Manage the upkeep and maintenance of workshop equipment.
- Manage maintenance and reliability of company owned assets in lien with company procedures
- Support in create of procedures to drive improvement in local, regional and global business practices
- Schedule regular maintenance and repairs to avoid production disruptions.
- Identify gaps in areas that can be improved and provide suggestions to management for implementation.
- Ensure that all job activities are accompanied by signed permits, updated Task Risk Assessments (TRA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and that all chemicals have updated Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- A recognized apprenticeship or qualification
- Safety Training Certificates
- Lean Principles Certificate
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in organizing and leading a team safely and efficiently
- Experience in repair & maintenance of a wide range of oilfield equipment
- Knowledge & understanding of industry & regulatory equipment test & inspection requirements
- Experience in job costing & working to schedules
- Experience in the offshore service industry or a similar environment.
- Experience in cranes & lifting equipment, diesel engines, pipeline & process pumping equipment, pressure testing & nitrogen equipment/handling.
- Good communication skills
