Procurement Engineer - Gas Pipeline

- Develop and execute procurement strategies to support gas pipeline projects in Central Asia, focusing on countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, etc.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous terms for the company.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine project requirements and ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
- Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage the full procurement cycle, including request for proposals (RFPs), bid evaluations, purchase orders, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements throughout the procurement process.
- Monitor inventory levels, track shipments, and resolve any supply chain issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the gas pipeline industry.
- Proven track record of successful procurement management for international projects, with a focus on Central Asia countries.
- Strong knowledge of international procurement laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and conducting supplier audits.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed to project sites and supplier locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, CPIM, CSCP).
- Experience with gas pipeline projects, including knowledge of pipeline materials, equipment, and construction processes.
- Previous work experience in the Central Asia region or handling procurement for projects in countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, etc.
