Key Accountabilities:Role Purpose: In Architectural Conservation, the MEP Engineer plays a critical and delicate role, balancing the introduction of essential modern services with the protection and preservation of historical character. the MEP Engineer contributes to sustainable reuse, regulatory compliance, and the long-term viability of heritage buildings.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and review mechanical (HVAC), electrical (power and lighting), and plumbing (water supply, drainage, fire protection) systems.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate MEP designs with architectural and structural elements of the project.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Monitor site installation work to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Conduct system testing and commissioning of MEP installations.
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions during construction.
  • Stay updated with new technologies, codes, and standards relevant to MEP systems withn heritage assets.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of international building codes (NFPA, NEC, IPC, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MEP design software.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience with [AutoCAD, Revit MEP, etc.].
  • Organisational, project management and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • An ability to solve technical problems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Electrical and Planning Engineer (MEP Engineer)
  • 5 years' experience.
