ResponsibilitiesOur newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Communications Officer (Public Relations), seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.This position is responsible to support the implementation of the corporate Communications Strategy.We envisage success in this role to include;
- Acquiring and maintaining a detailed knowledge of the company’s policies, principles, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments.
- Developing and implementing an appropriate communications strategy to effectively raise understanding and commitment to the Client vision, its corporate values and business challenges. This includes design and delivery of interactive events and full utilization of electronic and written media.
- Developing and delivering planned and ad-hoc communication campaigns which support business needs and agreed strategic priority change projects.
- Providing communication advice and guidance to project managers responsible for projects.
- Advising and producing innovative communication solutions which develop leaders, engage staff and all key internal stakeholders. Coach and support managers to own and deliver communications. Monitor and report on success and progress.
- Developing an effective partnership with the Corporate Communications Department and the Corporate Planning and Development Department to ensure communication strategy alignment and optimization of available communication media.
- Developing journalistic texts, using support from the end user section with the client, in Arabic and English for internal and external communications as per PRD corporate policies. Content development includes approximately ten stories per year in both English and Arabic to be included in "Our News" quarterly magazine, one annual report (in both Arabic and English), press releases highlighting key campaigns and projects, social media (as necessary), features, Q&As, responses to customer complaints received via 'Watani Al Habeeb' radio programme etc.
- Creating and managing regular business-as-usual Drainage O&M & Roads O&M communication channels and assess their effectiveness and relevancy to the business and people needs.
- Able to work at all levels with clients and management.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary organization preferably in the Middle East.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders and staff at all levels within and outside the organization.
