- Full-time
- Lead the design, development, and execution of specialized vehicle conversion projects, including ambulances, mobile workshops, armored vehicles, and EV retrofits.
- Translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications, engineering drawings, and actionable deliverables.
- Coordinate and supervise cross-functional teams, including CAD designers, mechanical/electrical engineers, fabricators, and prototype builders.
- Collaborate closely with internal project managers to ensure all engineering activities are aligned with project timelines, milestones, and budget constraints.
- Monitor progress and proactively address any design, production, or integration issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance.
- Oversee the execution of key technical activities in the bodyshop, including structural modifications, electrical system integrations, and prototype validations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement across all phases of the vehicle conversion process—design, fabrication, assembly, and validation—with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency, reducing production time, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in areas such as electric and hybrid powertrains, lightweight and high-strength materials, advanced vehicle electronics, safety systems, and automation tools relevant to vehicle customization.
- Drive the adoption of digital tools and modern engineering practices, including CAD/CAE platforms, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, and virtual prototyping, to streamline product development and support faster decision-making.
- Collaborate proactively with the supply chain and procurement teams to source suitable materials, components, and systems that meet the technical, functional, and regulatory requirements of vehicle conversion projects. Ensure timely availability of critical parts to avoid production delays.
- Review, evaluate, and approve technical deliverables from subcontractors, including design packages, system layouts, and outsourced engineering work.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison with regulatory bodies, certification authorities, and inspection agencies, supporting homologation processes and ensuring all vehicle modifications are fully compliant with applicable legal and safety standards (e.g., UN ECE, ISO, GCC, or local authority regulations).
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, CAD designers, and technicians, supporting their professional growth and ensuring consistent knowledge transfer across teams.
